Roger Kavigan is a retired public educator with over 30 years of service. A passionate traveler and former union leader, his global adventures and community involvement—ranging from cultural volunteering to historic preservation—continue to fuel his commitment to civic engagement, inclusion, and living a life filled with purpose and discovery.
With three decades in public education, Roger Kavigan received numerous teaching awards and held leadership roles in educational advocacy. His work supporting the LGBTQ+ community and preserving cultural heritage reflects his dedication to equity. He now devotes time to volunteering, travel, and supporting institutions like the Aquarium of the Pacific.Roger Kavigan brought empathy, innovation, and activism to public education. A champion of student-led initiatives like the GSA, he also represented educators at the state level. His post-retirement vision includes continued volunteerism, world exploration, and opening a charming bed and breakfast inspired by his travels and community spirit.
